Open Question: "Dangerous Dog breeds in california" and insurance company.?

ok this is a huge disappointment to me. so i short story long my last dog passed away christmas of 2010 and it has felt empty with out a dog around. but now that i want a larger dog i am in a pickle because of the insurance that we have and the breed of dogs i am looking into adopting. i live in california San Diego and the homeowners insurance that i have will not allow even Alaskan huskies and obviously one of my other preferences in dogs a pit bull. i really need some guidance into how to go about getting the breed i want without having to later down the road having to choose between my dog and home owners insurance any guidance would be much appreciated thank you for your time and help....
